And my personal favorite? ¡Cha, cha, cha, chan! Soundcloud is the winner for me!! I have used it before and I LOVE how easy it is to use.
[PodOmatic and Audioboo are very similar to Soundcloud, but involve extra steps. So ease of use is a slight factor. Garageband is not difficult to use, but for me it requires a bit more training to get proficient at it. Garageband has wonderful ways to make your recording stand out, like female or male voice, music and sounds. Again, even though I was assigned a Mac computer with my district, I am a PC user and Mac websites and applications always take me extra time to use because I'm not as familiar with Macs as I am with PCs.]
My 1st graders and I made a Mini-Book Review Podcast on Soundcloud. I introduced the recording in English and then in Spanish and we all gave our review. I prepared cue cards for my kiddos (and even myself) on index cards with our lines. They had to say which was their personal favorite Dr. Seuss book. They sound so adorable!! :) I don't sound so good because I have a real bad cough right now. So, frogsville! :) I hope you enjoy listening to our Podcast as much as we enjoyed making it.
[Aside: All of these sites are blocked by my district's filter except for one, Garageband. Garageband is already uploaded on our work Mac computers, so we are able to use it. I had to find alternative methods to get the go ahead to use Soundcloud.]
